Eternal Sunshine Ministries (ESM) is a trauma-informed, faith-rooted nonprofit serving youth and young adults in Franklin and Delaware Counties, Ohio. Our mission is to illuminate pathways of healing, resilience, and transformation through suicide prevention, emotional wellness, and purpose-driven mentorship.

Whether we are helping students build peer support networks or equipping churches to respond after crisis, our work centers on one thing: restoring hope in hard places.

What We Do

Our programs are evidence-aligned, community-powered, and designed for measurable impact. ESM’s four core pillars support students, families, faith communities, and campuses through a wide range of culturally responsive services:

Strength in Schools
Mental wellness programs for middle and high schools, including peer-led wellness clubs, Youth Mental Health First Aid for staff, and Sources of Strength implementation.
Family Lifeline
Bilingual webinars, a digital resource library, and quarterly Parent Cafés that reduce stigma and help caregivers support youth in crisis.
Hope in the Village
Community-based storytelling events, faith leader training, and peer mentor certification for those ready to walk with others through healing.
Campus Light
Suicide prevention toolkits, weekly peer support groups, and signature Mental Health Days in collaboration with college counseling centers

Who We Serve

Our trauma-informed model, known as The Sunshine Shift™, is designed for:

We prioritize Black, Hispanic and Latino, and LGBTQ+ youth, first-generation college students, youth in the juvenile justice system, and families experiencing housing or food insecurity. Every program is culturally responsive and community partnered.

How We Work

Our approach blends prevention, resilience, and connection. Programs include:

Gatekeeper trainings like QPR and Mental Health First Aid
Peer leadership development
Warm handoffs and referrals to counselors and 988
Postvention support for schools and churches affected by loss
Ongoing data collection and outcome reporting for transparency and accountability

Schools and Campuses Public, charter, and faith-based schools as well as hybrid counseling centers, aligned with best practices in school mental health.
Faith and Community Leaders Churches, mosques, community centers, and coalitions to reach families most affected by trauma and suicide.
Behavioral Health Providers Screening, care transitions, and postvention planning with Zero Suicide-aligned practices.
